Many of our external third parties are located outside the European Economic Area (EEA), so their processing of your personal data involves a data transfer outside the EEA.

In those cases where we transfer your personal data to a third party outside the EEA, we ensure a similar level of protection for your data by ensuring that at least one of the following security measures is in place:

  • We will only transfer your data to countries that the European Commission has determined to provide adequate protection for personal data. For more information, see European Commission: Adequacy of the protection of personal information in non-EU countries.

We have taken appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorized manner, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to access it. They will only process your personal data if we instruct them to do so and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

HOW LONG WE USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA

We will not keep your personal data for longer than necessary to achieve the purposes for which we collected it, including to comply with legal, accounting and reporting obligations. This also means that we may retain personal data from closed accounts to comply with legal requirements, prevent fraud and resolve disputes. After we are no longer obliged to keep your personal data, we will delete it in a secure manner.

When determining the maximum retention period of personal data that we keep, we assume our legitimate interests to retain data; our obligation under the GDPR to keep as little data as possible; the amount, nature and sensitivity of the personal data; the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal information; the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve these purposes by other means; the applicable legal regulations.

In some cases, you can ask us to delete your data: see Erasure requests below for more information.

However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, or if you repeatedly make the same request. In this case, we may also decide not to comply with your request.
